In 2005 it started with a living room converted to a small business. Dan on his own… barista by day - roaster by night - long days fuelled by espresso. The pressure cooker environment of small business forged an unflinching belief that quality does not need to be compromised. Our love for the Sublime product has brought us to the current position: a growing business with an amazing team of expert operators focussed on roasting, service and training. Our coffee is shipped worldwide.
Why have we built our own machinery? Our main roaster is a creation all of our own - there’s not another one like it in the world. Building something like this is an unknown quantity. Will it work? How much will it cost? When will it be ready? So why do it? We knew exactly what we wanted to achieve and had theories on how it might be possible…. Nothing was available commercially that would meet our needs. When you design and build your own you don’t need to live with other peoples compromises, or their ideas, about what you want achieve in terms of the final product.
